Task:
Many animals are in danger of becoming extinct. What are the causes of this, and what can be done to solve the problem?

Answer:
Animal extinction is a growing concern around the world caused by several factors. Human activity is the most common contributor to the endangerment of species. The destruction of habitats due to the encroachment of human development, changes in land use and over-exploitation of natural resources, such as hunting and fishing, are all factors that threaten animal extinction. Climate change and pollution are other factors that are also considerably harmful to nature, threatening entire ecosystems and increasing the risk of species extinction.

In order to address this issue, it is important to promote education and awareness on the importance of preserving wildlife and natural habitats. Governments should impose stronger regulations related to environment conservation and animal protection, while funding should be allocated to the establishment of protected areas in order to protect vulnerable species. Additionally, efforts should be made to increase knowledge of threatened species in order to make sure suitable measures are taken in time. Reintroduction programs of endangered species in their natural habitat, with the help of conservation programs, should also be conducted where possible. Finally, people should be encouraged to contribute to the conservation of wildlife and its habitats through volunteering and fundraising.

Question:

The world’s wildlife is facing an ever-increasing risk of extinction. What do you think are the main causes of this and what measures can be taken to tackle this problem?

Answer:

The rapid decline in wildlife around the world is a significant issue that is cause for great concern. The main causes of animal extinction are primarily due to man-made activities and environmental changes. These include the destruction of habitats due to human population growth, climate change resulting in harsher weather patterns, and extensive hunting and poaching of animals for fur and merchandise.

In order to tackle this problem, it is essential to put in place effective measures to protect and conserve wildlife. The first step is to reduce human-caused habitat destruction by emphasizing the importance of conservation and sustainable development. This can be achieved through better education, awareness campaigns, and policies that protect environmental habitats. In addition, legal sanctions against hunting and poaching should be enforced firmly and awareness about this should be increased especially in rural areas. Lastly, nations should collaborate to identify the areas of greatest need in terms of protecting animal habitats and establish international funds to support conservation projects.

Overall, protecting wildlife from extinction is a complex endeavor that requires a multifaceted strategy focusing on reducing the destruction of habitats, punishing illegal activities, and improving international collaboration. When these steps are taken, the world’s wildlife stands a better chance of being protected from the ever-increasing risk of extinction.

Question: Some people think that the best way to protect animal species from extinction is to establish protected areas where hunting and fishing are not allowed. Others think that hunting and fishing should be allowed in these areas for population control. Discuss both sides and give your opinion.

Answer: Animal species extinction is a major global concern, and it is essential that we take action to protect these species. While some people argue that the best way to do this is to set up protected areas, where hunting and fishing are forbidden, others argue that these activities can be controlled to help with species population management.

Those who believe that protected areas are essential in protecting animals argue that prohibiting hunting and fishing in certain areas gives creatures such as fish, mammals and birds a fighting chance to survive and reproduced, thus reducing their risk of extinction. In addition, it can mean that the ecosystem of an area remains intact, making the environment much safer for both the wildlife and humans.

On the other hand, those who are in favour of keeping hunting and fishing legal within protected areas suggest that in an overcrowded habitat, where predation is low, a controlled hunting and fishing can help reduce the population of a species to a more sustainable level. In this way, the ecosystem in the protected area can be better maintained and the probability of animal species extinction can also be reduced.

In my opinion, I believe that both approaches should be adopted in protected areas, as in many cases hunting and fishing are necessary to meet the needs of local inhabitants while maintaining a healthy balance in the ecosystem. For example, establishing protected areas where specific hunting and fishing practices can be enforced and monitored, with the help of experienced professionals, would give both wild animals and local people the chance to benefit.
