Question 1:
In some countries, students are encouraged to take part in extra curriculum activities such as sports. Do you think this is a positive or negative development?

Answer:
I believe that encouraging students to take part in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, is a positive development. Not only do sports provide physical and mental health benefits, participating in these activities also encourages teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills, and social development. All of these skills are then transferable to their academic and professional lives after school. In addition, sports can be an outlet for energy, stress and anxiety, making the educational environment more relaxed and productive. Therefore, I support the concept of encouraging students to take part in extra-curricular activities such as sports.

Question:
Some people think that schools should select students according to their academic abilities, while others believe that it is better to have students with different abilities studying together. Discuss both these views and give your own opinion.

Answer:
It is widely debatable whether schools should prioritize academic ability when selecting students or have a mix of students from different backgrounds and skillsets. On one hand, those who support focusing on academic ability argue that this will lend a more competitive edge to the school and thereby, churn out more highly competent students. On the other, opponents of this suggestion claim that having students with a range of abilities learning together would contribute to a more diverse learning environment with greater personal development opportunities.

From my perspective, while both these arguments have valid points, I believe that having a mixture of both academically proficient and less capable students fosters better personal growth and development. First, the presence of students with varied academic capabilities makes classroom environment more stimulating and engaging. When a student from the less capable cohort succeeds, other students gain the confidence to overcome their own limitations and extend their academic and personal boundaries. Secondly, having a blend of capable and less capable students presents an opportunity for all to learn from each other. The more capable may share and hone their expertise, while the less able can benefit from a more lenient yet effective learning environment.

To conclude, while schools should look for aptitude and academic capabilities, it is beneficial to have a mix of students with varied abilities and interests. This would help develop a more diverse and enriching learning environment, thereby promoting an overall holistic development of the students.

Answer:
I believe that universities should provide graduates with the knowledge and skills needed in the workplace. It is important for universities to ensure that their graduates have the right knowledge and skills to be successful in the workplace, as this will help them secure job opportunities and make a positive impact on society. Not only will this help graduates to progress in their career, but it will also benefit employers. By providing graduates with the necessary competencies, universities can help employers find high-quality candidates with the skills needed to do the job in a competent manner.
